01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

A dusting of pork back fat drifts across the bowl, floating atop a chicken-bone shoyu broth rich with deep soy umami. Chinryu's ramen features slender noodles of modest thickness paired with crisp Kujo scallions, complemented by the lively, pleasant kick of red chili pepper. Alongside the standard chuka soba, portion sizes can be tailored to any appetite, with regular, 1.5, and large bowls on offer.

For a heartier meaty indulgence, the chashu men—topped with exceptionally tender slices of braised pork—is a natural centerpiece. As the chashu steeps in the broth and melts on the tongue, pairing it with garlic-scented gyoza or homestyle fried rice rounds out a thoroughly satisfying meal.

Beyond noodles, the kitchen prepares a broad lineup of side dishes, including crisp fried chicken served refreshingly with citrusy ponzu, a pork-and-egg stir-fry crowned with Kujo scallions, and delicate dashi-rolled omelets. Inside, counter stools sit alongside conventional tables and raised tatami seating, comfortably accommodating everything from a quick solo lunch of slurped noodles to a relaxed evening alongside bottled beer or chuhai.
